Yellow Rose Funerals

believe in creating a warm and inclusive environment where your families cultural, religious, and personal preferences are respected. At Yellow Rose Funerals we have been entrusted with the responsibility of arranging meaningful and deeply personable farewells for families, and we believe in creating truly unique, personalised and affordable farewells. We recognise that each life is unique, and we honour the individuality of every person who has left a lasting impression on this world. We work together with families to create life celebrations or personal funerals that take place in meaningful locations. We are story tellers who tell your loved one's story.

Our Approach

At Yellow Rose Funerals, we recognise that people generally will only make funeral arrangements once or perhaps a few times across their lives.  Many are unaware there is no rush to start organising a funeral straight away and doing things in your time or when you feel ready is ok. We are here to guide you through the process of what to expect.

Yellow Rose Funerals Role

An important and traditional part of a Funeral Director’s role is to assist with the practical aspects of a funeral, such as care of your loved one, and coordinating when and where the funeral will be held in line with families wishes. Families are increasingly seeking guidance and advice on the celebratory aspects of a funeral, such as the style and content of the service, the choice of music, and other touches that reflect the life of your loved one.

Craig and Lauren are dedicated and professional Funeral Directors who are able to handle every aspect of your loved one's passing with respect, dignity and confidentiality. They are by your side from start to finish, guiding you through the process to ensure everything happens smoothly.

Our Process

Death can occur in many different circumstances both expectedly and unexpectedly: at home, overseas, in a hospital or nursing home.

During our initial interaction, we learn about these circumstances and work with you where appropriate to:

  • Transfer your loved one into our care; and

  • Agree on a suitable time / place for us to meet with you, to discuss next steps and funeral arrangements.

This generally happens fairly quickly following your loved one's death but can be agreed upon to the family's preference.

Initial Arrangement Meeting

The first time, we meet with our families is called the initial arrangement meeting. This meeting can take place at your home, or in a place that is convenient and comfortable for yourself and your family. We understand that face to face is not always an option and can work with the family to agree an alternate arrangement, as needed. We move with the pace of the family at these meetings to work through documentation and to discuss various decisions, such as:

  • Funeral location and date

  • Will there be a viewing

  • Will your loved one be buried or cremated

  • Would your family like flowers

  • Will vehicles / hearse be required

  • Will music be incorporated into the service

  • Will there be an Order of Service or Audio-Visual presentation

  • Will the death and funeral be advertised in the newspaper

  • Will there be a gathering afterwards

  • Would you like to provide clothing for your loved one to be dressed in

For many families a funeral has become a celebration of life and the choices made at the time of arranging a funeral can help to truly commemorate the life of your loved one. This ability to personalise is reflected in the choices available when considering a coffin or casket, a floral tribute, cremation urn or funeral vehicles, as well as funeral stationery, livestreaming, music and a host of other options.

We understand funerals are often an expense that may be unexpected, so we are always transparent with pricing. We will work with you to ensure we are within expectations, and you leave the meeting feeling informed and with a full cost estimate.

Following the Arrangement Meeting

After the initial arrangement meeting, Craig and Lauren will commence making arrangement on your behalf and as agreed.

The many hours of planning and behind the scenes preparation is vital in ensuring that the funeral is carried out in accordance with your wishes. A number of follow up phone calls are usually made during this period, to confirm or clarify outstanding details.

On the Day of the Funeral

On the day of the funeral, you will be greeted by Craig, Lauren and our experienced Funeral Assistants, who are responsible for coordinating and supporting the service on the day. Craig and Lauren’s primary focus is to support your family while ensuring the service runs smoothly and to your wishes.
