Burial
Yellow Rose Funerals Burial Services

Burial

A burial, is the human ritual of placing the deceased into a burial plot or into an above ground burial such as a crypt or vault. For a burial service you will need to decide on a coffin or casket, and the preferred location of the burial plot. We can assist you in making the arrangements to purchase a new gravesite or facilitate the burial at a pre purchase site.

Graveside Service:

Many families choose to hold a graveside service as part of their farewell. A graveside service can be the single venue for the whole funeral service, meaning the service will occur at the gravesite. The graveside service may also take place following a service at another venue.

A graveside service can be personalised to your loved one's values, cultural, spiritual, personal, or emotional preferences.

Cremation

Nowadays, cremation is often the preferred choice for families in Australia. Once your loved one has been cremated, either following a funeral service or a direct cremation, families can choose to permanently memorialise the ashes at a carefully considered location, or they may wish to scatter them in a place of significance. Whatever your family chooses, we can guide you along the process.

Cremation and Funeral Service:

This usually means the coffin is present at the funeral service and cremated either at the location or is transferred by hearse to a crematorium to be cremated. The latter allowing you to have the service at a location such as a surf club, outdoors or at home.

No Service, No Attendance

Direct Cremation:

This is where your loved one is taken directly to the crematorium for cremation. The ashes are generally received back to the family in 3 weeks' time.

Direct Burial:

This is where your loved one is transported directly to the gravesite for burial.

For both options, family is generally not in attendance and rather they will have a Memorial Service at a later date. No Service, No Attendance arrangements are generally more affordable options.

Memorial

Where a No Service, No Attendance funeral is held families often have a memorial or service at a later time. At Yellow Rose Funerals we understand that holding ceremony space for your loved one, even with a direct cremation or burial is important to families and friends. This is where a memorial in a park, a garden or any venue like a pub, club, surf club, or beach offers a physical place to visit and remember a loved one, to hold space and ceremony to remember your loved one. A Memorial is similar to a traditional funeral, it simply happens after the cremation or burial, however the traditional coffin can be replaced with a personalised memorial table, which has the ashes as the centerpiece. Holding a Memorial after the cremation or burial can provide you and your family additional time and space to arrange a service that best reflects your loved one. We are here to support you the entire way.

If you are not sure what funeral venue is right for you and your needs, we will help you find the perfect space.

When choosing funeral venues, there are several considerations to keep in mind. These include:

  • How many people do you need to accommodate?

  • Do you want to hold the service in one location, or are you happy to travel to the cemetery or crematorium after the service?

  • Do you have any special requirements like onsite catering, video projection, room for musicians or a specific time in mind for the service?

  • Is the venue easy to find and is there appropriate car parking?

  • Do you need access to function rooms?

These answers will help you identify what you need in a funeral venue, and they will enable us to help you find the perfect funeral venue for your needs while also honouring the life of your loved one.
